MISSILE! Ronaldo Has A Super Record Against Villareal

After a fraught beginning to the new year, calm appears to have descended once more on Real Madrid and on Cristiano Ronaldo in particular. He might not have fully got his customary sparkle back just yet, but he has once more been indispensable for Real Madrid over recent games.

Against Schalke 04 in the Champions League, he opened the scoring with a superb header and then laid on the second for Marcelo and set Real Madrid on course for the Champions League quarter finals. And then, last weekend at Elche, Cristiano sealed his side's victory with a fine header worthy of the legendary Santillana himself.


And now, heading into this atmosphere of calm improvement, Villarreal appear on the horizon. The 'yellow submarine' are one of Cristiano Ronaldo's favoured victims. He knows how to deal with them, as is proved by the 10 goals he has put past them fromthe eight Villarreal games he has taken part in.

Not only that, Cristiano has scored in each of the last three games against this weekend's rivals, though oddly, each of these was away at the Madrigal. The last time he scored against them at the Bernabéu was in the 2010-2011 season, when he claimed a hat-trick, which greatly contributed to the final 4-2 score in Real Madrid's favour.
