Real Madrid Keen On De Gea

Real Madrid will push on this week with operation De Gea. From today they will kick-start negotiations to sign the Spanish international keeper.

United know they have no choice but to sell him. Meanwhile, Real Madrid know full well that David goes into the last year of his contract on 1st July and that they have already agreed personal terms with the former Atlético man.

The shot-stopper's refusal to sign a new deal at United has convinced both Van Gaal and the Manchester United board that he has no intention of staying at Old Trafford. However, his change of scenery depends inevitably on Madrid upping their offer. Signing the Spaniard could cost as much as €30m.

The keeper has not put in a transfer request and has no intention of doing it, unless he is forced to.
De Gea agreed personal terms with Real Madrid several months ago, which is why both club and player remain calm. Nowhere in those terms does it mention David demanding that Casillas leave the club so that he can be Los Blancos' first-choice keeper.
