The 2014 African Nations Championship best XI has been announced with bronze medallist, Nigeria supplying three of the 11 names. Champions Libya and beaten finalists Ghana also supplied three each. Midfielder Ejike Uzoenyi, who scored thrice and was voted the tournament's best player topped the list. He was picked among the four midfielders selected for the team in a 4-4-2 formation.Others who made the selection are Kudakwashe Mahachi of Zimbabwe, Mohamed Elgadi of Libya and Jordan Opoku of Ghana.
The best goalkeeper of the tournament is Libya's Mohamed Abdaula who has been picked to be in goal while Nigeria's Kunle Odunlami topped the list of four defenders selected by the Confederation of African Football.The other three are Ali Salama of Libya, Partson Jaure of Zimbabwe and Ghana's Joshua Tijani.
The Home Eagles also provided one of the two strikers chosen for the CHAN XI.Kano Pillars Rabiu Ali who who scored three goals in the tournament was picked alongside Ghana's Seidu Bansey who did not score a goal as the two strikers to complete the 4-4-2 formation adopted by CAF.
No Nigerian player was however named among the 11 players who will be on the substitutes' bench.
