Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes their 1-0 north London derby win over Tottenham puts them firmly back in the Premier League title race.
The Gunners eked out victory at White Hart Lane courtesy of Tomas Rosicky's lightning quick opening goal just 72 seconds in but had to withstand plenty of Spurs pressure to secure all three points.
Table-toppers Chelsea's defeat at Aston Villa brought a fresh twist to the battle for the league and with both Manchester City and Liverpool winning, Arsenal's victory keeps them in the hunt.
Sitting joint second with the Reds, the Gunners boss said following the game: "I think it makes it interesting for everybody. City won, Liverpool won and we won so it can make it a very tight end of season.
"That’s exciting, that gives us a chance and we just wanted today to win to continue to have a chance."
Spurs boss Tim Sherwood believed his side deserved all three points but while acknowleding the host's excellent showing, Wenger disagreed.
"That goal [Rosicky's] will be very important. Deserve to win? I’m not convinced because we had the clear cut and better chances."
