SO GOOD! Ronaldo Hits 70 Goals In Europe

His brace in the European Super Cup took Cristiano Ronaldo to 70 goals in European competition. The Portuguese player continues book his own space in history and is now the second highest goalscorer in UEFA club competitions behind Raúl, who scored 77. Ronaldo is now level with Inzaghi in the table.

The Whites’ striker has scored 68 times in the European Cup, a haul to which he can now add two from the Super Cup. He scored 54 of his 70 goals in Europe while at Real Madrid, while the other 16 came with Manchester United.


Faultless in finals

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored again in a title-deciding match, for Real Madrid he has found the net in all four one-match finals he has played in: Copa del Rey (2011 and 2012), Champions League (2014) and the recent European Super Cup.

In addition, he is the fifth Real Madrid player to score at least two goals in a European final after Rial, Di Stéfano, Valdano and Puskas, who managed it twice. Ronaldo, who was the last man to score for Real Madrid last season in the final of the Champions League, was the first to find the net in the new season, this time to win another title.
