Delta State Sports Association head Amaju Pinnick has emerged the president of the Nigeria Football Federation after an election held in Warri on Tuesday afternoon. His emergence is expected to bring an end to the rigmarole in the country’s football sector that has earned the ire of Fifa over the last four months.
Pinnick led the field with 32 votes, far ahead of the other candidates as Dominic Iorfa polled eight (8) votes and Taiwo Ogunjobi got four (4) votes.
Running on the campaign of reconciliation, Pinnick is expected to bring together the torn football house.
Seyi Akinwumi, lawyer and chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, emerged 1st Vice President while Musa Gusau Ibrahim emerged unopposed as the Chairman of Chairmen.
Chris Green also emerged unopposed as the South/South member of the NFF Board.
