French Paper Describes Di Maria As The Expected PSG Messiah

It seems the French tabloid is expecting Di Maria to win the much expected UEFA Champions League trophy for PSG. The wait for a club in Lique 1 to bring the trophy home has been overdue. Messiah Di Maria........lol

The front page of French daily L’Equipe on Wednesday has outgoing Man United winger Angel Di Maria plastered on their splash.

In big bold letters ahead of the Argentine’s confirmed move from Manchester to Paris, L’Equipe say “Expected as the Messiah”.

One wonders whether L’Equipe are raising the bar too high for Di Maria, who is leaving the Premier League after just one season having failed to sparkle at the Red Devils.

Inside the paper, L’Equipe discuss Di Maria’s medical in Doha this week, noting that the Parisians were determined to find out why the Argentine got injured so often last season at Old Trafford.

The broadsheet say PSG put Di Maria through intensive exams, and the French club are convinced the “Noodle” now has a clean bill of health.

Looking at how Di Maria will fit into Laurent Blanc’s team, L’Equipe say Di Maria will become the third string to the club’s attacking bow, behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.

Elsewhere, word on the street is that Real Madrid are set to receive €8m from Di Maria’s €63m transfer to PSG.

If the €8m sell-on clause is true, Los Blancos will have received at least €83m from Di Maria’s sale. By contrast, James Rodriguez cost €80m.
