Man United Still Longing For Gareth Bale - Sunday Express

Do the Sunday Express even believe their own headlines? Seriously.

The backpage of the tabloid this weekend screams that Manchester United have not given up hope of signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

As if it needed stressing, there seems no chance in hell of that deal happening this summer. Bale seems to be an integral part of Rafa Benitez’s plans at the Santiago Bernabeu this season, and Bale could even be deployed in a number 10 role behind Cristiano Ronaldo this campaign.

Returning to the Express’s story, they claim that as Angel Di Maria prepares to join PSG, Louis van Gaal is keen to make Bale a “galactico” signing.

The Express point out that United’s interest in Bale is independent of their interest in Barcelona forward Pedro, who seems to be on the verge of a move to Old Trafford.

The paper claim United are “ready to smash that world record Bale fee” Real paid Spurs, in order to bring the Welshman to Manchester.
