On Wednesday the potentially massive transfer story took on a new lease of life, as Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli announced on Twitter that Benzema will join Arsenal on a 4-year contract worth €9m a season.
Giulianelli failed to note how much Arsenal need to shell out to Real Madrid to get the deal done.

It is understood that Arsenal are ready to bid up to £45 million for the striker, who has scored 133 goals in 281 games for the Spanish giants.
Moving slightly away from the Benzema to Arsenal story, the 27-year-old Frenchman has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his thigh and is a doubt for the start of Real Madrid’s 2015-16 campaign.
