AS Monaco defender Elderson Echiejile has suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for weeks, the player has confirmed.
The Nigerian international sustained the problem during a training session with the French topflight outfit which ruled him out of his side’s 10-2 defeat of St Jean Beaulieu in the French Cup.
“I picked up a hamstring in training on Tuesday and I will be out for a couple of weeks,” Elderson wrote on Elderson3.com.
His injury is an undoubted blow for Monaco, who are hoping to overtake Ligue 1 leaders PSG. The former Braga player will miss his team’s game against GFC Ajaccio, Lorient and Toulouse.
The 27-year-old has played 12 of Les Rouges et Blancs’ games this season, becoming an integral part of Leonardo Jardim’s side.
