Pedro Will Flourish In England - Fernando Torres
Pedro is believed to be nearing a transfer to the Premier League, with Manchester United favourites to sign the Barcelona forward.
Fernando Torres believes Spain international team-mate Pedro has all the ability to succeed in the Premier League amid interest from Manchester United.
Pedro, who scored the match-winning goal in extra time as Barcelona edged Sevilla 5-4 in Tuesday's UEFA Super Cup, has been linked to United as the forward searches for regular game time.

CHELSEA: Radamel Falcao To Wear Jersey No.9
Chelsea have confirmed that Radamel Falcao will wear the No.9 shirt for the new season. The Colombia international completed his loan move to Stamford Bridge earlier in July, but will join up with his new team-mates during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States later this month, after being given an extended holiday due to his participation at the Copa America.
Chelsea’s No.9 shirt was last worn by Fernando Torres before the Spaniard’s departure to AC Milan last August.

I Wanted Torres To Join Inter Milan - Jose Mourinho
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he would have preferred if Fernando Torres had joined Inter rather than AC Milan. The Spain international joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan deal from the Blues just before the close of the summer transfer window.
However, Mourinho has explained that even though the striker failed to nail down a regular starting berth during their time together at Stamford Bridge, he holds the 30-year-old in the highest esteem as a player and as a person and, therefore, would have loved to have seen him join Milan's city rivals.

Torres Showers Praises On Teacher Mourinho
Fernando Torres had nothing but praise for Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho upon his official unveiling in Milan. Torres completed a two-year loan move to Milan on Sunday, though he was not officially presented to adoring Serie A fans until Tuesday. The Spaniard's switch to Italy ended a troubled three-and-a-half-year stint at Stamford Bridge, having scored just 20 Premier League goals in 110 appearances. Torres, along with fellow strikers Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba, were criticised last season for lack of goals as Chelsea missed out on league glory.

Didier Drogba Set To Lead Chelsea's Attack Against Everton As Torres Joins AC Milan
Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho will make a decision on Diego Costa tonight before naming his team to face Everton at Goodison Park. The Spain striker has been struggling with a minor hamstring injury, but trained on Thursday and was due to again today, and Chelsea will monitor his fitness tonight. Costa, who has scored two goals in his first two games for the club, was yesterday called up by Spain for their games against France and Macedonia in the next fortnight. The initial fears were that he could be out for several weeks, but Mourinho said:
“We are trying everything for him to play tomorrow. We must make a decision. He has to try a light training session to see if the reaction is positive.

Fernando Torres Can Leave Chelsea - Jose Mourinho
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out a summer exit from Stamford Bridge for Fernando Torres and suggested that the striker can leave if he wants. The Spain international is closing in on a move to AC Milan with both clubs currently working to secure a deal ahead of deadline day. Mourinho insists Torres has not asked to leave the Blues but admits that anything is possible ahead of the close of the transfer window on Monday.

AC Milan Close To Loan Move For Fernando Torres
AC Milan are close to striking a loan deal for Chelsea striker Fernando Torres after selling Mario Balotelli to Liverpool. The Spaniard has been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after failing to impress since joining in 2011 for a British record £50million.
Jose Mourinho has grown frustrated with the Spaniard since returning to Chelsea after stints with Inter Milan and Real Madrid, and has wasted no time in recruiting former Blue Didier Drogba and Atletico Madrid hitman Diego Costa. Torres' future looks bleak after he was dropped for the 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge over Leicester at the weekend, and numerous reports claim the Spain international is demanding a staggering £16million to leave London.

TRANSFER NEWS: Di Maria Close To United Move, AC Milan In For Torres & More
AS Louis van Gaal digests a point against Sunderland, his analysis will be tempered with the news that Angel di Maria’s arrival is imminent.
The Argentine will arrive with the halo of a saviour given Manchester United’s limp start to the campaign – but at a price, some $107m, which will smash the British transfer record. He’d become the fifth most expensive player ever – behind Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez, ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic – and only the 22nd registered at more than $62m. It has been reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is trying to suck the life out of United with an astronomical $133m price, but United hope the $107m range will suffice.

Torres Not Leaving Chelsea - Jose Mourinho
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says he has no intention of letting Fernando Torres leave Stamford Bridge this summer. The Spain international has been a maligned figure since joining the Blues and was not even part of Mourinho's squad to face Leicester City on Saturday, where Diego Costa bagged his second Premier League goal and Didier Drogba made a short cameo in the 2-0 win.
The 30-year-old striker has been linked with a transfer before the window closes, but, despite his lack of involvement at the start of the campaign, Mourinho is keen to keep him. When asked if Torres would be leaving, the Portuguese replied: "No. I want three strikers in the team and I can’t do the season without three."

Chelsea: Jose Mourinho Set To Sell Mikel And Others
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has declared that Nigerian midfielder, John Obi Mikel, could be on his way out of the club.
Mikel has been consistently linked with a move away from Chelsea but it seems the arrival of Ivorian marksman, Didier Drogba has finally sounded the death knell on the time of the Nigerian at the club.
The return of Drogba means Chelsea’s anticipated first-team squad has one too many foreign players under Premier League and Champions League rules relating to the home-grown quota.

QUESTION: Did Drogba Place An Enchantment On Chelsea Strikers?
The brawny Brazilian-come-Spaniard may be Chelsea's best hope of finally ending the Drogba era, says Alex Hess...
Chelsea obviously owe much to Roman Abramovich for the way he has funded the grand influx of high-end footballers to Stamford Bridge. But while the club has accrued immense playing talent since that game-changing summer of 2003, it’s not the case that all those glamorous acquisitions have lived up to their billing. Indeed, while no club will ever boast a 100% success rate with transfers, there is an unmistakable recurring theme to Chelsea’s Abramovich-era transfer business: the staggering rate at which high-profile strikers have flopped miserably.
It is a pattern likely to worry Chelsea fans who would rather their club recruited dead-eyed goal machines than shot-shanking figures of fun. And it is a pattern that should be equally troubling for Diego Costa, the west Londoners’ latest mega-money centre-forward. But will he fill Didier Drogba’s venerated boots, or step instead into the well-worn clown shoes of Stamford Bridge?

Torres Won't Quit Chelsea Despite The Arrival Of Diego Costa
Fernando Torres is refusing to quit Chelsea despite the imminent arrival of Diego Costa. Manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear to the Spanish striker that he has no long-term future at the club but Torres is prepared to play second fiddle at Stamford Bridge next season.
The 30-year-old has two years remaining on his £160,000-a-week contact and knows he will not be able to command such lucrative terms anywhere else.
There is interest in the forward from Torres’ former club Atletico Madrid and Inter but the two European sides would only be able to pay around half of his current wages.

SPAIN: Del Bosque Thinking Attack Options
Either Torres or Costa. With just four days to go to the World Cup debut, the idea of Spain playing a pure nº9 against Holland is growing in strength. All the training session held up to now in Washington and Curitiba certainly point in that direction.
Del Bosque has always separated Fernando Torres and Diego Costa, with all 10 teams that he has set up including a striker. Yesterday was no exception.
The training session, which lasted for an hour and a quarter, ended with the usual mini-game. And, as always, Costa was put in one team and Torres in the other as the two strikers. Much the same has happened in the recent friendly games running up to the World Cup, with Del Bosque always playing a nº9. Against Bolivia, it was Torres' turn, who started.

MOURINHO: I May Start Ba, Torres And Eto
José Mourinho praised Atlético Madrid but then slipped into his very own inimitable style when asked about the tactics he plans to use against the Rojiblancos.
"They're a good team. They’re not a counterattacking side. They defend well and score goals. They win games. They're in the Champions League semifinals and only need two wins to be champions of the Spanish league. I don't think it's fair to analyse them like that," he replied when it was suggested that Atlético is not a great team.
Hazard:
"Hazard is ready, it's my decision if he starts but he's ready."

How Torres Moved From Being An Atletico Madrid Hero To A Chelsea Downcast
Fernando Torres won't just return to Atletico Madrid a Chelsea player, he will return a shadow of his former self. At 19-years-old, Torres was bestowed the honour of becoming Atletico's youngest ever captain, having been a consistently high scorer each season in La Liga.
He joined Atletico as a boy, starting his career at the club in 1995. He made his debut in 2001 and then, in over 200 appearances, he scored just under 100 goals. During this time he established himself in the Spanish national team and in a star-studded La Liga. He was, many said, the ultimate marksman.
Coveted by Chelsea and Newcastle, as well as Manchester United, he was blessed with the kind of skill that could turn games in an instant. Pace, power, finishing ability - he had it all.

TORRES: I Will Force Mourinho To Play Me
Fernando Torres accepts that it is his responsibility to force himself into a position where the Spaniard is manager Jose Mourinho's number one striker.
Torres told an English newspaper on Saturday that he wanted to see out the remaining two years of his contract at Stamford Bridge and was confident he could still be in Brazil with Spain for the World Cup finals in June.
Mourinho, who has been highly critical of his strikeforce this season, said on Friday that 30-year-old Torres still had a place at Chelsea despite putting the striker on the bench for this week's Champions League defeat at Paris St Germain.
