Samuel Eto Set For Everton Medical Today

Samuel Eto’o appears to have found himself a new Premier League club after being let go by Chelsea this summer. Reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed Samuel Eto’o will be an Everton man tomorrow, signing a two year deal at Goodison Park. This looks like a great move for Eto who remains keen on staying in the limelight in Enlish football. Eto made is impact for Chelsea last season by scoring some home valuable goals for the Blues including an hat-trick against  Man United. This should be a minimum guarantee of 10 goals for Everton and addition of a wealth of experience.

Eto Undergoes Medical Ahead Of Liverpool Move - Goal

Samuel Eto'o has opted to join Liverpool and is undergoing a medical on Friday ahead of signing a one-year deal, Goal understands.

Everton's late interest in the 33-year-old had threatened to derail Liverpool's move, with Roberto Martinez's side ready to offer a two-year contract, but the striker is excited by the prospect of working under Brendan Rodgers.

The Cameroon international's medical is taking place outside of the UK, while the deal could be finalised before Liverpool face Manchester City on Monday evening.

Liverpool Offer Eto One Year Deal

Liverpool have made former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o a contract offer as they look to bring the player to Anfield. Liverpool, who are on the verge of signing Mario Balotelli from AC Milan, are also ready to push through a deal for Eto'o as Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his attacking options before the close of the transfer window.

Samuel Eto'o has yet again mocked Jose Mourinho after celebrating a goal in Cameroon's 2-2 friendly draw against Germany on Sunday night.

Mourinho was caught on camera lamenting the quality of the forwards at his disposal at a sponsors' event in Switzerland in February, and suggested that Eto'o could be older than he claims to be.

The 33-year-old striker netted the first goal against Joachim Low's side on Sunday, and repeated the celebration he first unveiled against Tottenham where he held his back in mock pain and used the corner flag as a walking stick.

José Mourinho praised Atlético Madrid but then slipped into his very own inimitable style when asked about the tactics he plans to use against the Rojiblancos.

I don't think it's fair to analyse them like that," he replied when it was suggested that Atlético is not a great team.

The Cameroon international has a "minor knee irritation", while Belgium winger Hazard travelled with the rest of the squad to Spain despite missing the last two games with a calf problem, the club said on their website.

Eto'o, 33, scored seven goals in 12 appearances against Atletico for Real Madrid, Real Mallorca and Barcelona between 1999 and 2009 and Chelsea may miss his experience at the Calderon.

Hazard picked up a calf injury in the early stages of Chelsea's second-leg victory over Paris Saint Germain on April 8 and has not figured in the Premier League for the Blues since.

AN awful mistake from Jan Vertonghen set Chelsea on their way to victory over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge this evening which extended the Blues' lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points.

Spurs hit the self-destruct button only moments later as Younes Kaboul brought down Eto'o inside the 18-yard box. Referee Michael Oliver pointed straight to the spot and compounded Spurs' misery by showing Kaboul a red-card.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has slammed his lack of striking options - as he eyes a swoop for Monaco forward Radamel Falcao.

The Blues chief is said to have commented on the lack of depth he has up front and questioned Samuel Eto'o's age in what he thought was an 'off-the-record' conversation with a Swiss businessman at a sponsor's event. The comments were recorded and aired by French television station Canal Plus according to reports in the national newspapers.

Mourinho was quoted in various reports as having told the businessman: "The problem with Chelsea is I lack a striker. I have Eto'o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?"

The Cameroon striker continued: “There are days where I’m the one who gets kicked – it’s football and can happen unfortunately. But my only intention was to defend and prevent my team from conceding a goal, nothing else. It wasn’t to take out an opponent.”
