The father of Nigeria under-17 star Kelechi Iheanacho is hopeful his son will reconsider his decision and still join Manchester City. Iheanacho was included in the Super Eagles’ provisional squad for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) but left after a week to conclude talks with Man City.
The deal with the English outfit was however not concluded with the youngster apparently changing his mind and choosing Portuguese giants FC Porto instead.
James Iheanacho told Brila FM that he was aware of the situation, but added that he will try and persuade his son to go to the Etihad Stadium when given the chance.
He said: “I don’t know what is really happening, I will find out more about this,” Iheanacho Snr told the popular radio station.
“But what I can say for now is that family members too are still pleading with him to sign for Manchester City.
