There’s another curious element to the team, revealing the fickle nature and short-termism of football fans.
Gareth Bale, a player many of whom had never even seen play before he arrived in the Spanish capital in September, features in left midfield, based solely on his last good month of football, before which they were panning him.
The full team is: Courtois (Atleti) Lahm (Bayern), Ramos (Madrid), Thiago Silva (PSG), David Alaba (Bayern); Ribery (Bayern), Ozil (Arsenal), Bale (Real Madrid); Leo Messi (Barcelona), Lewandowski (Dortmund), Cristiano Ronaldo (Madrid).
