PREMIER LEAGUE: Man United Have Only Bagged 5 Points In 9 Games Against The Other Top 8 Teams In EPL

Football stats giants Opta have released a revealing table showing a mini-league of results between the top 8 teams in the Premier League this season.

Leading the way by a considerable nine points is Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City. City, second in the league and a point behind Arsenal, have blown their title challengers out the water intheir head to head meetings this season, winning seven and losing just once against their closest rivals.

Somewhat surprisingly, Roberto Martinez’s Everton, currently 6th, sit second in the mini-league with 12 points from 7 games against the division’s big boys, while Chelsea and Arsenal sit fourth and fifth respectively.

The most galling observation produced by the table is the form Manchester United have against the biggest teams in England: having played more games then anyone else, David Moyes men have acquired a miserable five points from 9 matches.

Also alarming for United fans is the club’s goal-difference in the mini league, minus 8, which is a whopping 28 goals behind bitter rivals City.
