Qatari club Al Rayyan have officially signed former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
The 31-year-old striker has left Chinese side Guangzhou R&F to pen a one-year-and-a-half contract with his new club.
“The Yak” moved to Asia in 2012 after a decade in the English Premier League, where he played for Portsmouth, Middlesborough, Everton, Leicester and Blackburn.
Yakubu, who has scored 21 goals in his 57 appearances for the Super Eagles since his 2000 debut, failed to help Guangzhou R&F seal the AFC Champions League ticket last season.
However, he will play in that competition with Al Rayyan, who ended 4th in last Qatari season.
