ARSENAL: Theo Walcott has scored 5 goals in Four matches

Theo Walcott sealed Arsenal’s return to the top of the table on New Year’s Day after Manchester City had temporarily taken pole position in the league after an early 3-2 win at Swansea on Wednesday.

Arsenal’s win did not come easy.

Cardiff, buoyed by the sight of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sitting in the stands ahead of confirmation that he is to be the new Dragons manager, kept Arsenal at bay until the final minutes of the games when Nicolas Bendtner struck.

Once Arsenal took the lead it was left to England attacker Theo Walcott to boost his reputation as being a killer finisher in the box with a clinical dink over keeper David Marshall in injury time at the end of the game.

Incredibly that goal was Walcott’s fifth Premier League strike in just four games since coming back from injury
