Manchester United Will Bid £30m To Sign Southampton Pair Adam Lallana & Luke Shaw

The Daily Express, a tabloid with a poor track record of getting transfer rumours correct, announce on Monday that Manchester United will bid £30m to sign Southampton pair Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw.

The story written by Anthony Chapman also has some insights into the suppose comings and goings from Old Trafford this summer as David Moyes shakes up his under-performing squad.

According to the Express:
Players such as Nani, Ashley Young and Shinji Kagawa are unlikely to remain at the club this summer, and Lallana could find himself lining up alongside Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj in an attacking three behind Wayne Rooney.

The ageing Patrice Evra looks to be on his way to Paris St-Germain when his contract expires at the end of the season, and Moyes is prepared to stick Shaw straight into his starting XI.

The Express also note that whilst Manchester United will bid £30m for the Southampton pair, the Saints themselves are looking for closer to £40m for their star players.

It’s also noticeable that the Express pay no lip service to Robin van Persie’s future at Old Trafford, and the failure to talk about the Dutchman suggests he may be leaving Manchester United this summer also.
