Leo Messi said he has reflected on the mistakes he made during his previous appearances at the World Cup finals and is confident he will get things right in Brazil.
"We're really up for it. I think I've learned from what I did wrong at previous tournaments so I won't make the same mistakes again. There's no doubt people are buzzing: we have a very solid group of players and haven't lost for a while", the Barcelona star stated.
Messi stressed the lengths he'd go to in order to win: "[On the pitch] I'm a completely different person to who I am at home. I like winning and if I have to fight or argue my way to victory, I'll do it", he noted, adding that he is "transformed" when he steps onto the pitch.
The pint-sized forward is bullish about his country's prospects of lifting the World Cup trophy, which he said would be a "dream". "Judging by how things have been coming together recently, I believe we can do it", he stated ahead of Argentina's opener against Bosnia on Sunday.
Asked about the final, he replied that "Hopefully I can face Neymar in it, but if not him, I'd be happy to take on any other team".
As for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, he called it a "fantastic" experience, as it was his first World Cup. "But after we got knocked out, people were very unfair to me, because the team had played very well", he continued.
