That remains Algeria’s only victory over a European opponent at the World Cup, drawing three and losing four since then.
Algeria are the sixth African team to reach the knockout stages of a World Cup (after Morocco, Cameroon, Senegal, Nigeria and Ghana).
Germany have reached the semi-finals of the last three World Cups. No nation has ever made the last four in four successive tournaments.

Germany have scored the opening goal in all three of their games so far in the competition. Algeria opened the scoring twice in Group H.
Miroslav Klose needs one more goal to be the World Cup’s highest scorer. He is currently joint-top with Ronaldo (15 goals).
No team has scored more headed goals than Algeria at the tournament so far (2).
