After Ghana lost out of Brazil 2014 sources from there camp have said their failure could be blamed on the money saga the team went through before payments were made. Now the Super Eagles are on strike refusing to train ahead of a crucial encounter with France. I hope we don't end up like Ghana, i just hope and i can assume that NFF can see what happened to Ghana.
Super Eagles media officer Ben Alaiya has thrown more light on the failure of players of the team to report to training on Thursday amidst widespread report on the cause of the players no show in training Thursday evening.
Alaiya disclosed that the players’ strike is not unconnected to the demands of their entitlements as the players held a plenary session together at the team’s base in Campinas Brazil.
“It is not unconnected with their demand as the players were holding a meeting and when it was time for training, the coaching crew called the training off and gave the players time to rest.”
Alaiya further revealed that the Super Eagles players have been handed $15 000 for the games against Iran and Bosnia while the players have also been demanding for the $30 000 that is due to them for qualifying for the last sixteen of the world cup in Brazil.
“The Super Eagles have since been handed $15 000 each been $5 000 for the draw against Iran, and $10 000 for the win against Bosnia-Herzegovina and are now asking for the $30 000 per player for qualifying to the second round of the competition.” Alaiya stated.
