Arsenal Doesn't Have The Financial Power To Buy Benzema

Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague is set to annoy Arsenal fans today, as the Spanish talking-head has sought to set aside any lingering hopes that Arsenal will sign Karim Benzema from Real Madrid this summer.

Balague voiced his update in an article in AS today, which was mainly focused on Real Madrid’s dwindling hopes of signing David De Gea from Manchester United anytime soon.

According to Balague, Los Blancos are set to miss out on De Gea, and one of the principle reasons is financial.

Man United are demanding 45 million euros for their stopper, and Real don’t have the funds at this stage to make that deal.

Balague considered whether Madrid could sell some of their assets in order to raise money for De Gea, which lead the talking head to announce that the Gunners have no chance in landing Benzema.

In one sharp sentence, Balague claimed that Real Madrid have “no intention” to selling Benzema and, “in any case, Arsenal don’t have not the 50 or 60 million euros” needed to make the deal happen.

Interestingly, AS earlier this week farted that Arsenal have €65m available to bid on Benzema, while Cadena SER backed up that claim reporting Arsene Wenger has £42m to splash out on a striker and Karim Benzema tops his list.
