Siasia Sure Of Foreign Based Players Participation In All African Games

With some of his key players securing contracts abroad, U-23 coach, Samson Siasia, says he hopes such players would be released to play at the All Africa Games next month.

Captain Okechukwu Azubuike has signed with Turkish side, Yeni Metalyaspor, while striker Junior Ajayi is on the verge of joining Esperance of Tunisia and Siasia says he had an understanding with the players about them playing at the All Africa Games.

Consequently, he hopes their clubs would release them when the time comes.

“I’m happy that they are going abroad because that is what we want for them to go there and get the experience and come back. In life you have to progress because you cannot be stagnant, you have to move on and that is what we expect from them.

“Hopefully they will come and I don’t think it will affect the team because they will come back and join us and I am happy they are making progress,” Siasia said.
