Enyeama who has been outstanding this season was again in supreme form on Saturday as Lille beat Valenciennes 1-0 at the Stade du Hainaut as the competition entered match day 15.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper has now produced 13 clean sheets in 15 league games played this season.
He will become the goalkeeper with the longest number of minutes under his belt without conceding in the French top flight if he keeps a clean sheet in the first four minutes of Lille’s next league game against Olympique Marseille.
PSG’s Italian goalkeeper, Salvatore Sirigu currently holds the record having gone 948 minutes without conceding in Ligue 1 between November 17, 2012 and February 8, 2013.
Enyeama has not conceded a goal in Ligue 1 in 945 minutes as he last conceded when the Mastiffs lost 0-2 at home to Nice on September 15.
The biggest threat to him breaking that record is expected to come at the Grand Stade Lille Métropole (Villeneuve d'Ascq) on December 3 when Lille hosts Olympique Marseille on match day 16.
If the former Enyimba goalkeeper does not concede inside the first four minutes of the encounter against the country’s best supported club, he will go into the history books for all the right reasons.
"Ten consecutive matches without conceding a goal? I think it never happened. We must keep the spirit that animates this group. Until we meet this collectively, it will go well,” he said.
Saturday’s win in the derby took Lille up to second on the Ligue 1 standings with 30 points from 14 matches.
