Falconets Trash Liberia 7-0 In U-20 Women's World Cup Qualifier
Nigeria's Under-20 women's football team, the Falconets, were in merciless mood on Saturday as they hammered the Liberian women's national team 7-0 in a 2016 Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying game in Abuja.
The Falconets won the first leg 7-1 in Monrovia on July 12 and the Liberians needed something in the shape of a mini miracle to progress to knock out the powerful Nigerian side.
The tie was effectively put to bed as a contest early on as the Nigerians eventually made early dominance count.

Nigeria’s Falconets were in ruthless form on Sunday as they thrashed Liberia 7-1 in 2016 Fifa Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying game in Monrovia.
The Falconets began the fixture at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in blistering fashion netting inside the first quarter hour through Yetunde Adeboyejo. The irrepressible Adeboyejo was to grab a hattrick on the day as she added further goal scoring contributions in the 36th and 60thn minutes.
Rivers Angels starlet, Amarachi Ojinma scored a brace while Chinwendu Ihezuo and Juliet Sunday also scored as Nigeria won in convincing fashion.

Players, Officials Celebrate Oshoala's Liverpool Move
Players and officials of Nigeria women’s league champions, Rivers Angels, have been voicing their excitement following the move of star striker Asisat Oshoala to English Women’s Super League champions, Liverpool Ladies.
Oshoala, who was voted the most valuable player at the 2014 Fifa Under-20 Women's World Cup in Canada, was also the top goal scorer as the Falconets finished runners-up to Germany.

President Goodluck Jonathan Wants The Fifa U-20 Female World Cup Trophy In Aso Rock
President Goodluck Jonathan , Thursday congratulated Nigeria’s Under-20 female football team, the Falconets on their qualification for the final match of the ongoing FIFA world cup in Canada.
As the Falconets prepare for final showdown against Germany on Sunday, Jonathan urged them to put in their best effort to win the trophy for Nigeria and Africa for the first time in the history of the competition.
The President congratulated and charged the Falconets in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati. He applauded the Falconets’ scintillating display which earned them a 6-2 victory in Wednesday’s semi-final encounter with North Korea as well as their very commendable performance in earlier matches.

Falconets Drawn In Group Of Death For U-20 Women`s World Cup
Nigeria will face England, Mexico and Korea Republic in Group C of the preliminary round of the 2014 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup.
The draw ceremony which commenced 10 pm (Nigeria time) in Montreal, Canada was greeted with great fanfare that showcased the culture of the country. It was a spectacular treat that left mouths wide open including the crème de la crème of world football such as Fifa Vice President and Concacaf President Jeffrey Webb.
Tatjana Haenni, Fifa’s Deputy Director of Competitions Division and Head of Women’s Competitions was in charge of the draw and was assisted by Sylvie Beliveau, Janine Helland and Clare Rustad.

Falconets Beat South Africa 7-0 On Aggregate To Qualify For 2014 World Cup
Nigeria’s under-20 women’s team have booked a place in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, after beating South Africa 1-0 in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Striker Adeboyejo Yetunde scored the the match winner in the first-half as the Falconets sealed a 7-0 aggregate victory against Batsesana.

FIFA U20 WOMEN'S WORLD CUP 2014: Nigeria Trash South Africa 6-0
Nigeria have moved a big step closer to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup after they spanked visiting South Africa 6-0 in Abuja on Saturday.
The Falconets simply outclassed their South African counterparts that the return leg match in South Africa next weekend will be a mere formality.
Hosts Nigeria fired early warning they mean business as they scored twice within five minutes.
Asisat Lamina opened scoring after three minutes off a pullout by Grace Winifred that ripped open the South African defence.
