Nigeria's Under-20 women's football team, the Falconets, were in merciless mood on Saturday as they hammered the Liberian women's national team 7-0 in a 2016 Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying game in Abuja.
The Falconets won the first leg 7-1 in Monrovia on July 12 and the Liberians needed something in the shape of a mini miracle to progress to knock out the powerful Nigerian side.
The tie was effectively put to bed as a contest early on as the Nigerians eventually made early dominance count.
Aminat Yakubu was the star of the show as she netted a brace and provided an assist while Joy Bokiri also helped herself to a brace.
Chinaza Uchendu, Amarachi Ojinma and Yetunde Adeboyejo also added goalscoring contributions as the Falconets romped to an earth-shattering win.
Saturday’s win means Nigeria thus completed a 14-1 aggregate win and send a stern message across the field.
