NIGERIA FLAWS SWEDEN

Sweden were probably shocked tonight after suffering a three nil defeat in the hands of the unstoppable Eaglets of Nigeria. The eaglets have been fantastic from the first match but they had to fight back twice against Sweden in the group stage. Garba Manu coach of the Golden Eaglet said earlier that they were confident of victory and that was backed up by an early goal in the 21st minute by Awoniyi before Okon and Ezeh scored consecutively in the 80th and 81st min to rule out the hopes of the Swedish. Nigeria will be gunning to be the most successful country in the competition if they beat Mexico and lift the Trophy. Nigeria has won the tournament 3 times, 1985,1993 and 2007. You can make history boys, up Eaglets, go get the cup.

COACH GARBA: NIGERIA WILL BEAT SWEDEN

Coach of the Golden Eaglets, Manu Garba has stated the desire of his team to defeat their Swedish counterparts ahead of Tuesday’s semifinal clash in Dubai at the ongoing Fifa Under-17 World Cup. Both sides meet for the second time after an entertaining 3-3 draw in the group stage and Garba has declared his boys will go all out for the win and book their place in Friday’s final. Sweden remains the only team to have taken points from Nigeria in a match in which we had to come back twice. My verdict - Nigeria would make there way to the final but it will be tough. Up Naija, please make us proud boys, we cant wait to celebrate you.

FIFA U-17 WORLD CUP: NIGERIA TO PLAY URUGUAY

Three-time champions Nigeria had no trouble with Iran at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain racking up three goals in the first half en route to a 4-1 scoreline. The result sets up a quarter-final date for the Nigerians with Uruguay, a game in which they may likely miss two of their best attackers – Kalechi Iheanacho and Success Isaac – through injury.  Nigeria came out all guns blazing in the opening seconds. Iheanacho, who scored four goals in the opener on this very pitch.
