Isaac Success fit to play, match kicks off at 5pm

Golden Eaglets striker, Isaac Success has been satisfied  fit for today’s FIFA U17 World Cup final  showdown between Nigeria and Mexico. This highly anticipated clash would be the second time that the teams will face each other at this year’s tournament, with both having emerged from the same group. Success had been sidelined in four games after picking up a hamstring injury in the  October 22 game against Sweden  during the group phase of the tournament. Read more after the cut
However, Head Coach, Manu Garba had confirmed that his striker had been declared fit for the finals. “Success is fit for the final. But we have resolved not to rush him. So he would be starting from the bench in the finals,” he disclosed. The highly-rated striker had scored twice at the U-17 World cup, he was  top scorer at the African Junior Championship in Morocco earlier this year. Golden Eaglets, will don the white jerseys  for the match that will kick off at 8:00 pm local time(5:00 pm) Nigerian time, while the El Tri will be in green. Meanwhile, Scottish referee, Craig Thomson and his compatriots Derek Rose and Alan Mulvanny had been picked by FIFA as officials for the epoch making final match at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Thomson had been a match official since 1988 and had officiated in the Scottish Premier League since 2002.
