Father of Golden Eaglets star Kelechi Iheanacho said the final choice of Manchester City was because God will lift him there. James Iheanacho told MTNFootball.com:”We prayed yesterday and after due consultations with family members, we came up with Manchester City believing he has a future there. That is where he will be uplifted.”
The family meeting, which was attended by the football star, went on past midnight on Monday. Last week, there was a major falling out between father and son over the choice of a European club for the MVP of the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup. Kelechi had insisted on Portuguese champions FC Porto, which would have also taken Eaglets teammate Chidera Ezeh as part of the bargain. But his father wanted him to take up the offer from Manchester City or Chelsea. Kelechi finally got home in Owerri on Monday morning after he left home for several days without the consent of his father. The father had to go on radio to say his son was missing. Who thinks thats a good move???
