President of the Nigeria Footbal Federation, Aminu Maigari has denied that there were no plans to sack coach Stephen Keshi, blaming the media for stirring up rumours. The NFF President, who was voted as the Sports Administrator of the Year in the recently concluded Nigeria Sports Awards, questioned the rationale for the rumours, and blamed the media for 'cooking up' the story.
"I don’t know who is cooking up these stories," Maigari told newsmen.
"I think with great apologies to you guys in the media, these stories are coming from the press, because Keshi and I have not sat down to discuss anything like that."
Maigari went on to disclose that there are no plans to hire a foreign assistant, and assured that Stephen Keshi will lead Nigeria to the World Cup next year.
