SUAREZ: Time For The World To Forget My Mistakes

Luis Suarez was thrilled to have trained with his new Barcelona team-mates for the first time on Friday and says it is time to forget the past two months. On Thursday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decreed that Suarez's four-month ban from all football-based activity should not exclude him from training.

Fifa hit Uruguay star Suarez was hit with the sanction after he bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup - the third time he has been found guilty of such an offence.

The striker - who joined Barca from Liverpool for a reported €88 million last month - joined in training with the rest of the Spanish giants' squad on Friday, and could make his debut for the club in Monday's friendly against Club Leon at Camp Nou.

Luis Suarez In First Training With Barcelona

Uruguay international Luis Suárez was Friday morning amongst his other Barcelona teammates to train for the first time since his mega money move from Liverpool after the Brazil World Cup.

Suarez who had hoped that his four-month ban will be halved yesterday by the Court of Arbitration for Sports was only cleared to train with teammates as well as take part in non-official matches till his earlier pronounced ban is over.

As reported on Barcelona’s official website the likes of Xavi and Bartra also trained with the main group Neymar as well but without medical all clear and Vermaelen continued with some physio work.

WORLD CUP: James Rodriguez In The Class Of Diego Maradona

Colombia forward James Rodriguez is in the class of Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, according to Uruguay boss Oscar Tabarez.

Rodriguez, 22, opened the scoring with a brilliant volley before adding a second to beat Uruguay and set up a quarter-final with hosts Brazil.

Colombia coach Jose Pekerman added: "I never had any doubts that this was going to be his World Cup."
"From what I have seen, he is the best player in the World Cup," said Tabarez.
"I am not exaggerating, he is a great striker."

WORLD CUP 2014: James Is The Best Player At The World Cup Says Oscar Tabarez

Oscar Tabarez has proclaimed James Rodriguez to be the best player at the World Cup after the young Colombia star struck twice to eliminate his Uruguay side.

James netted both goals, one a stunning 25-yard volley, as Jose Pekerman’s team progressed to a quarter-final against Brazil. And the Uruguay coach was full of praise for the 22-year-old in his post-match press conference.

“I know him - not personally, but I’ve seen him play for a while. He arrived in Argentina at 17 and already showed his talent,” explained Tabarez.

WORLD CUP: Uruguay FA Keeps Suarez Shirt In Dressing Room Line-Up

Uruguay have put Luis Suarez's shirt up in their dressing room ahead of their World Cup second round tie with Colombia.

The striker was sent home from the tournament and banned from all football-related activity for four months after he bit Giorgio Chiellini during his side's 1-0 win over Italy, which saw them progress to the knockout stages.

The Uruguay Football Association have given Suarez their support following the incident, however, and have even put his shirt up inside the changing room as they prepare to take on their South American rivals on Saturday.

BITING SAGA: I Didn't Bite Chiellini Deliberately Says Suarez

Uruguay attacker Luis Suarez has claimed that he did not deliberately bite Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during their Group D encounter on June 24.

Referee Marco Rodriguez failed to spot the incident in the 79th minute of Tuesday's match, but Fifa opened an investigation into the incident after video footage showed the Liverpool forward's teeth making contact with Chiellini's shoulder.

When asked by Fifa's Disciplinary Committee to give his stance on the incident, Suarez wrote that he never intended to bite the Italy defender, but that the incident was the result of a set of unfortunate events.

WOW!!! Watch Luis Suarez's Heroic Welcome In Uruguay (VIDEO)

Uruguay is a country in a state of shock for their martyred comrade Luis Suarez. Convinced there’s a conspiracy against them, concocted by the English press, the entire nation of Uruguay has put itself behind ‘Luisito’ Suarez, backing him to the hilt over his ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini.

On Thursday night, a huge crowd gathered at Montevideo Airport to welcome their hero home into their safe arms, putting on an amazing display of solidarity and fervor.

BITING SAGA: Suarez Bite Not Fair Says Sepp Blatter

Fifa President Sepp Blatter believes Luis Suarez's biting offence was "definitely not fair" - though he wouldn't say the player's name.

"It is not fair what he has done," Blatter said on Friday in a video interview on Fifa's website. In his only scheduled media commitment during the World Cup, Blatter said it was not for him to comment on the severity of Suarez's punishment for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.

He did, however, say that Uefa President Michel Platini told him goal-line technology will be introduced at the 2016 European Championship.

WORLD CUP 2014: Colombia vs Uruguay Preview

The loss of talisman Radamel Falcao to a cruciate ligament injury before these finals began was supposed to be a body blow to Colombia's hopes of fulfilling their potential in Brazil. ‘El Tigre’ plundered a Colombian-record nine goals in qualifying and a nation's hopes rested heavily on his stout shoulders. They figured they still had more than enough firepower to escape Group C, but said it would hinge on them taking something against Greece in the opening game.

Of course we now know that concern to have been a smokescreen, given the way Colombia romped through their group, taking maximum points, scoring at will and playing a brand of attacking football that has stood out even in the most attacking World Cup anyone can remember. They’ve barely noticed the Falcao-shaped hole and have now replaced the uninspiring Belgium as the dark horse of this tournament.

SHOCKING!!! Luis Suarez Gets Presidential Welcome In Uruguay

Luis Suárez has slipped quietly back to Uruguay to take refuge at his mother's house on the outskirts of Montevideo after being thrown out of the World Cup for biting Italian Giorgio Chiellini.

The Liverpool striker arrived in Uruguay during the early hours of Friday morning, where a handful of people were waiting for him, with hundreds of fans having left around midnight after spending several hours waiting for him to greet him and show their support.

Uruguay's President, José Mujica, also spent an hour at the Montevideo airport terminal, but left after being told the flight had been delayed.

GIORGIO CHIELLINI: Suarez Ban To Harsh

Giorgio Chiellini has surprisingly voiced his support for Luis Suarez, claiming his four-month ban from football is "excessive."

The Azzurri defender criticised Suarez heavily for biting him during the 1-0 defeat to Uruguay which sent Cesare Prandelli's side crashing out at the group stages of the World Cup. The Liverpool forward has been handed a nine-game suspension and has been banned from all football activity for four months by Fifa.

However, Chiellini revealed he is not angry at the striker and instead feels that the punishment world football's governing body has handed down could ultimately leave the player feeling alienated.

Barca Still In For Luis Suarez Despite Biting Saga

Despite the exemplary sanction imposed by FIFA and the poor image that Luis Suárez has shown to the world, Barcelona still want to go ahead and sign him. Further still, they feel that the incident could even be worked in their favour.

Bartomeu feels that the situation changed the moment the forward sank his teeth into Chiellini's shoulder, and that Liverpool are no longer in a strong negotiating position.

The Premier League might well prove to be a living hell for the Uruguayan. This is exactly what the higher-ups at Anfield fear and more and more of them are calling for his departure.

WORLD CUP: Suarez's Lawyer Says Luis Suarez Is Innocent, Blames England & Italy For Biting Hype

Luis Suarez's lawyer has blamed England and Italy for the hype surrounding the Uruguayan striker's latest controversy. The Liverpool forward has been accused of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini on the shoulder in his side's 1-0 victory in their final Group D match - the third time the striker has been involved in such an incident in his career.

However Suarez's lawyer, Alejandro Balbi, has confirmed that they are working on a defence and has insisted the confrontation has been blown out of proportion as a result of the Liverpool man's history.

"We don't have any doubts that this has happened because it's Suarez and secondly because Italy was eliminated," Balbi, who is also a Uruguay FA board member, told local Uruguayan radio.

SCANDAL!!! Luis Suarez Accuse England Of Termite Infestation In Uruguay's Camp
