WENGET: I Have No Suarez Regret

Arsene Wenger says he has no regrets over failing to land Luis Suarez in the summer, and the Arsenal boss insists he will not be renewing his interest in the striker. The Uruguayan rocked Liverpool last year when he told them he wanted to leave in search of Champions League football.

Arsenal offered £40,000,001 for the prolific ex-Ajax star in the belief that would trigger a release clause but they were mistaken and Liverpool fought to keep their star man. Suarez has gone on to bag 23 Premier League goals for the Reds, as well as secure a lucrative new contract, and will no doubt have the Gunners' defence running scared ahead of their trip to Anfield on Saturday.

But, asked if he regretted not being able to sign Suarez, Wenger said: "No, because you have sometimes regrets when a player played for you, and scores goals or does well somewhere else.

"He was never our player. It is just a situation that did not come off and that is it."

Wenger added: "For us the important thing is to win the game. After, the fact that what happened in the summer is nothing to do with that.

"If you want to win the game what is for sure is that he is one of the players that you have to keep quiet."

Asked if he would be likely to look again at a deal for Suarez this summer, Wenger said: "At the moment, no."

So far he's hot there shouldn't be any regret, and i don't think the man can leave someone as hot as he is to go
