Australian Open 2016: Super Serena Defeats Radwanska To Head Into Final

Serena Williams didn't even give Agnieszka Radwanska a chance. In their semifinal match at the Australian Open, No. 1 Williams predictably jumped all over No. 4 Radwanska, winning the first set in 20 minutes. Forty-four minutes later, Williams was already walking to meet Radwanska at the net.

To put it simply, Serena was typical Serena in the semifinals. She was dominant, in total command, and breezed through the match, winning 6-0, 6-4. In the process, Serena racked up 42 winners while Radwanska landed just four. She also took advantage of her opportunities to break Radwanska, winning five of six break points.

Serena is one win away from acquiring her 22nd Grand Slam and her seventh Australian Open title. If the Australian Open wants a new champion, either No. 7 Angelique Kerber or Johanna Konta will have to slow down Serena.

n an instant, Williams leapt ahead of Radwanska, securing a break in the first game of their semifinal match. It took her 10 minutes to win three games. It took her another 10 to secure the set.

But Radwanska won a game to start off the second set and finally began to offer some form of resistance. Despite getting broken and facing a 3-1 deficit, Radwanska broke Serena right back. The match suddenly wasn't so easy for Serena. But then, she pulled away -- so quickly that Radwanska's run was quickly forgotten.

In the set's ninth game, Serena stole a game to take a 5-4 lead. And, with ease, she served out the match in a hurry with three aces and a powerful winner.
