Tottenham were thrashed 5-0 at home by Liverpool yesterday and Spurs players Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Emmanuel Adebayor angered the fans further by uploading a picture, seemingly making fun of Spurs for the result.

With the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas on Monday morning, Adebayor may have found a way of returning back to the first team.

The Togo striker tweeted an apology on Monday evening, explaining to the fans that the pair weren’t making fun of the defeat.

Assou-Ekotto who was also loaned to QPR might also find his way back into the team in January. Both players believe they are axed away from the team due to personal issues instead of field form and performance.
