New Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has stated that he is keen to put in his best to reward Nigerians for their faith which saw him been named as Nigeria’s new handler. The 40-year-old replaced Stephen Keshi as the man in charge at the former African champions on Wednesday, and revealed that his is motivated to do his best.
“We are more than motivated to do our best for Nigeria. First of all, I am not coming as a Messiah,” said Oliseh at the unveiling ceremony in Abuja.
“I am not coming as a man who knows it all. I am not coming as someone who single handedly alone can just turn Nigeria into Germany, but I’m coming as a man who has come to serve his county and I’m ready to put in 150 percent efforts into this job.”
He also assured that players not in any top flight league will be invited to the senior national team while commending the choice of Salisu Yussuf and Aloy Agu as his assistant saying they are the best in the country.
The ex-Nigeria international will now hope to inspire an immediate improvement in the Eagles’ fortunes, starting with a win against Tanzania in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in September.
