Manchester United Bid €27m For Pedro

Manchester United fans can probably start queuing outside the club shop at Old Trafford for their new Pedro kits, if Sport on Tuesday can be believed.

The front page of the the Spanish daily today announces that Manchester United have offered Barcelona €27m for winger Pedro, and by all accounts the deal should be wrapped up imminently.

Sport claim that Pedro is “about to close his time at Camp Nou”, and that the transfer negotiations have reached “its decisive phase”.

Injecting just a hint of doubt that the deal may not happen, Sport say “there are still economic differences” between the two clubs, however those differences of opinion seem capable of being overcome.

Sport confirm that United have bid €27m for Pedro, Barca want €30m, while the paper believe the clubs will settle on an up-front payment between €26-27m, with Man United committed to a potential €6m of future payments due to add-ons.

Louis van Gaal is reportedly trying to conclude the capture of Pedro as soon as possible, however Sport say the winger will not play against Tottenham in round one of the new Premier League season this weekend.

Instead, Pedro is tipped to make his debut for the Red Devils in the Champions League qualifiers on August 18-19.
