Manuel Pellegrini Wants More Trophies For Manchester City

Manchester City will not be satisfied with just winning the Capital One Cup this season, claimed a bullish Manuel Pellegrini.

The Chilean manager picked up his first major European silverware since he left his native land a decade ago as the Blues saw off Sunderland 3-1 at Wembley Stadium.

City were eventually comfortable winners as Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas all scored in the second half to firmly cancel out Fabio Borini's opener for the Black Cats.

But with one trophy down, it's a case of three to go as City are still chasing the Premier League, in the FA Cup quarter-finals and in with a shout of Champions League glory if they can somehow produce a masterclass to turn around a 2-0 deficit against Barcelona in the last-16.

Speaking following the triumph Pellegrini had evidently got a taste for silverware and said: "We are going to rate the season when it ends in May. We won today but that's just one trophy and I don't think anyone can think this is enough.

"Why [would it be]? We need to win next Sunday in our [FA Cup] quarter-final [against Wigan] to get to Wembley again.

"But if for some reason we don't win it, we must have a good look at what we're doing wrong, where we can improve. But I don't think, never for top players or an important group, that you are satisfied with just one trophy."
