Didier Drogba Set To Lead Chelsea's Attack Against Everton As Torres Joins AC Milan

Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho will make a decision on Diego Costa tonight before naming his team to face Everton at Goodison Park. The Spain striker has been struggling with a minor hamstring injury, but trained on Thursday and was due to again today, and Chelsea will monitor his fitness tonight. Costa, who has scored two goals in his first two games for the club, was yesterday called up by Spain for their games against France and Macedonia in the next fortnight. The initial fears were that he could be out for several weeks, but Mourinho said:

“We are trying everything for him to play tomorrow. We must make a decision. He has to try a light training session to see if the reaction is positive.

“If it is, we’ll take him to Everton to play or be on the bench. If the reaction is not, obviously we don’t select him.

“It’s a better scenario, but what matters now is the match tomorrow. He is a doubt. ”

If Costa does not make it, Didier Drogba is expected to lead the attack at Goodison in his first start since his return to the club.

Mourinho has insisted that Fernando Torres, in negotiations today for a move to AC Milan after the Italian club offered him a three year deal, has not yet told him he wants to leave Chelsea.

The Portuguese, who is tracking Roma striker Mattia Destro as a possible £20 million replacement, said: “Fernando has not spoken with me. We need three strikers to face the season. He is one of them. I like him as a person, as a player.

“If he wants to leave, it’s because he wants to try a new life, a new club, a new league. I believe it’s to try to be happier than he has been in the last couple of years. This is a very human club. If he comes to us in these last couple of days, any possibility would be analysed by us as a club and the best decision for him.”

“But if that happens in the last hour of the transfer window, then we are in trouble.”

However, Italian giants, Ac Milan have signed Chelsea outcast, Fernando Torres on a two year loan deal.
The Spanish international move is subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical on Saturday.

Torres has struggled to leave a good scoring impression at Chelsea since he made his record £50m move from Liverpool in January 2011 and with new signings Costa and Didier Drogba well ahead of him a move away from Chelsea was imminent.

Torres scored 20 goals in 110 league appearances during his spell at Stamford Bridge.
