Barcelona 3-0 River Plate: Suarez, Messi Fires Barca To Club World Cup Triumph

Luis Suarez hit the net twice while Lionel Messi had struck a goal earlier to disorganize the impressive Argentines.

The Argentine giants were the stronger side in the first half, pressing Barca and keeping them under pressure in an energetic start.

But Lionel Messi opened the scoring before half-time and the Spanish and European champions never looked back.

Luis Suarez added a second-half brace to which River had no answer, being completely dominated by Luis Enrique’s men.

Suarez’s double, one a simple finish after Sergio Busquets had played him through, the other a fine header from an exquisite Neymar cross, means he is now tied for the most goals in Club World Cup history.

And Barcelona lifted the trophy to end an incredible 2015 on yet another high note.
