Chelsea vs Watford Preview: Head To Head, Match Facts & Statistics

Chelsea have won seven and lost none of the last eight meetings with Watford in all competitions.
The last meeting between these two teams came at Stamford Bridge in last season's FA Cup 3rd Round, which the Blues won 3-0.

Chelsea are unbeaten in the Premier League on Boxing Day since 2003, winning six and drawing four matches since then.

Watford have won just two of their last 13 league matches played on Boxing Day (W2 D4 L7).
Watford have already equalled their entire points tally from their last Premier League season in 2006/07 (28).

Odion Ighalo has scored in four successive Premier League games, equalling Troy Deeney's record for Watford earlier in the season.

If he scores in this match, Ighalo will be the first ever player to score in five successive top-flight matches for Watford.

The reigning Premier League champions have only lost at home to a newly-promoted team on four previous occasions; one of which was Chelsea's 0-1 defeat to Bournemouth earlier this month.

Chelsea have lost just three Premier League home games against newly-promoted opposition; 0-1 v Bournemouth in Dec 2015, 0-1 v Charlton in April 2001 and 0-2 v Nottingham Forest in Jan 1995.

In his previous tenure as manager of Chelsea, Guus Hiddink lost just once in all competitions (P22 W16 D5 L1).
