NPFL: Abia Warriors Signs Kennedy Boboye As New Coach

Abia Warriors have signed the sacked coach of Sunshine Stars, Kennedy Boboye as the club's head coach.

The management of the Uchendu Warriors unvieled the 37-year-old former Nigeria U23 star at a ceremony that was witnessed by the club’s fans and well wishers in Umuahia.

Boboye, who led Sunshine Stars to a sixth place finish in the last 2014/2015 season, replacing former Flying Eagles coach, Ladan Bosso who left the Umuahia outfit after two seasons in charge.

Club chairman Emeka Inyama said the team was delighted to appoint Boboye, while admitting admiration for his ‘technical qualities and coaching experience’.

While lauding Abia state governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his support, Inyama expressed regret at Bosso’s failure to meet the team’s set target of a continental ticket, but wished him all the best for the future.
