KESHI: My selection is based on fitness & form not big names

The Super Eagles’ Coach Steven Keshi has made it known to his players and members of the press that his final choice of players for the 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa will be determined by the players fitness and performance level at the training and other matches that will come before then. The players who are 30 in number are currently on camp but only 23 will make the final squad for the trip to South Africa for the tournament. Read more after the cut.......

Keshi who sees the time given to them as very short to bring out a comprehensive list for the players most fit for the tournament has taken necessary action to intensify the training so as to pick out the best of the best amongst them. Many of the players have began to put on their best form because how well they perform will determine their fate as regards to their names being on the sure list.

Also, according to press release by the Media Officer, Mr. Ben Alaiye, shows that by the end of the week the technical crew would have trim down the numbers of players in preparation of their departure in the first week of January.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles have moved from the FIFA Goal Project arena to the Abuja National Stadium training pitch to get used to the natural turf they may encounter in CHAN 2014.
