David Beckham just passed through Madrid almost completely under the radar. He arrived early on a special flight, filmed an advertising spot, which will push up his bank balance, before heading off first thing in the afternoon, also on a private flight.
That said, he did find time to pick up a large Serrano ham from Asador Donistiarra.
Beckham is currently in the news for his investments. He has bought Gianni Versace's house in Miami for $60m, as well as a Major League Soccer franchise, also in Miami for $25m, having committed to building an impressive stadium.
Despite being retired from the game, David Beckham still has a very full schedule. The best-known English footballer of recent years is still a big player in the advertising world.
