Nigeria`s Enyimba Knocked Out Of CAF Champions League By AS Real Bamako Of Mali

AS Real Bamako of Mali lost 1-0 at home to Nigeria’s Enyimba in the second leg first round game of the Caf Champions League played at the Stade Modibo Keïta.

The hosts had secured a shocking 2-1 victory in the first leg played at the Aba Township Stadium courtesy of goals from Mohammed Cisse and Amadou Samake after Sibi Gwar put the Nigerians ahead on the stroke of half time.

Needing at least two unreplied goals to book a place to the next round, Zachary Baraje's men approached the game with maximum concentration and dominated their hosts in the early minutes of the tension soaked encounter.

The Nigerians got rewarded for their dominance and took the lead on the stroke of half time. All efforts to get the second and vital goal on resumption of the second half by Enyimba proved futile as their hosts looked dogged in defence.

With this result, AS Real Bamako of Mali are through to the second round of the Caf Champions League after edging out Enyimba on away goal rule after aggregate scores stood at 2-2.
