Robin van Persie wants to leave Manchester United this summer - with Juventus waiting to pounce.
The Dutch striker joined the Red Devils in a controversial £24million move from Arsenal in 2012, and enjoyed a superb first season at Old Trafford where he played a key role in the title winning campaign.
Van Persie, 30, is understood to be unhappy at the club following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and the ex-Gunners star has also had to contend with a number of injuries and a loss of form.
The United hitman was critical of his team-mates after the 2-0 Champions League defeat to Olympiakos in their last-16 clash earlier this month.
Juventus, who were keen on van Persie before his move to Old Trafford, have emerged as favourites for the striker's signature and talkSPORT understands talks have already been held between the player's agent and the Serie A giants about a switch at the end of the season.
Reports suggesting the forward's contract includes a clause which will allow him to leave the Premier League champions, should try fail to secure a top four spot, appear to wide of the mark though.
