SUPER EAGLES: Joel Obi Happy Over World Cup Call

Following his inclusion and recall to the national team ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, AS Parma of Italy midfielder, Joel Obi says he is excited as well as happy as it was difficult for him during the early stages of this season.

Joel revealed that he is happy to have made the 30 man provisional list to kick start Nigeria preparations ahead of the world soccer extravaganza this summer in South America.

“I am very excited and happy to have been invited because it has been very difficult for me this season but I am back playing now and I give God the glory”


Obi has been used sparingly this season (7 times) by Parma boss and former Italy international, Roberto Donadoni due to the numerous injuries suffered by the 24 year old. Obi is however expected to return back to his parent club, Inter Milan at the end of the season.
