For the third day running, Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo have gone overboard on Luis Suarez updates in their paper. Today’s edition carries on MD’s headstrong opinion that Suarez will ditch Liverpool for Barcelona this summer.
The front page of the paper conveys this message clearly enough with a massive ‘Si’ splashed on the front cover with a celebratory picture of Luis Suarez scoring against England at the World Cup.
Inside the paper are claims that ‘Luis Suarez wants to come to Barca’ and ‘Luis Suarez has decided to leave Liverpool and the Premier League this summer’.
Once again, MD suggest that Alexis Sanchez will move to Liverpool as part of the Suarez deal, while the whole transfer package is priced at 85 million euros.
Stepping back from the report, Liverpool can still feel confident that Suarez may stay at Anfield after-all.
Most believe that the Liverpool hierarchy, lead by John W Henry, will fight tooth and nail to keep their prized asset at the club, much in the same way that the Reds saw off an approach from Suarez from Arsenal last summer.
Just because the Spanish say the deal is done, does not mean that that report is accurate.
You get the feeling that this transfer saga still has a long way to run this summer.
