WORLD CUP: Sports Media Guru Larry Izamoje Calls For More Hardwork From Super Eagles

Chairman CEO of Brila group Dr. Larry Izamoje has called for more hard work from members of the Senior national team after the team’s 1-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovinia Saturday night at the Arena Pantanal, Cuiabá.

Izamoje disclosed in a chat with 365footballnews.com that the team should intensify preparation against Argentina as the Albiceleste will prove a sterner test for the Super Eagles in the third and final group game with a top spot finish in sight for the winner of the encounter.

“While we celebrate, let’s keep praying for this team, let’s keep hoping that Keshi and his boys will keep working hard because it’s still not yet a finished product. Nigeria must fire her full Arsenals against Argentina. It’s not going to be a stroll in the pack against Argentina, they want to top the group, they would rather prefer to play any other opponent other France in the other group at the knockout stage. So let’s keep praying and keep working hard.”

Izamoje commended Keshi’s tactical tinkering in the match against Bosnia-Herzegovina. He highlighted the change in role of Odemwingie and the tactical inclusion in the starting line up of the hitherto maligned Volyn Lutsk of Ukraine player Babatunde Micheal in the left side of the midfield.

“Odemwingie scored because Keshi told him the match before this to do something, and the idea was that Odemwingie should play behind the top nine for Nigeria. It has to do with tactical discipline, it has to do with obeying the strategist, that was what Keshi told him to do, you’re not our final man , stay behind the attacker, look out for attackers and that was how we got this done.”

“I was surprised when I saw the name (Babatunde Micheal) on the list quite frankly but what Keshi was doing was to avoid what Klinsman capitalized on in our(Nigeria) friendly against USA. Keshi went into this world cup without a known left sided attacking midfielder. When you draw a straight line from our goal to the opponent’s goal, you will find out that Mikel and Onazi are always on the right and nobody really plays in the middle behind Moses and Juwon. That was what Keshi was trying to cover in the match and he did well by fielding a left sided attacking midfielder and even brought in another left sided attacking midfielder when Babatunde was injured.”

Izamoje finally picked Lionel Messi as the difference after a cursory and retrospective look into the two games that pitched Iran against Argentina and Nigeria respectively. He commended the brilliance and efficiency of Super Eagles’ shot stopper Vincent Enyeama while hoping for better defensive cover for the Lille Metropole of France safe hands.

“The difference between the two games Nigeria/Iran, Argentina/Iran is Lionel Messi. When you go into any competition, you must have that one man who gives you the extra bounce, and the winning edge and that man in this case is Lionel Messi.”

“We believe that Enyeama will continue to be on top, but then no matter how good you are, you need a good defense to keep covering you.” Izamoje concluded.
