Kelechi Iheanacho will return to the Manchester City squad for Saturday’s Barclays English Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Iheanacho has been recently sidelined with injury and last played for the Citizens in the 1-2 defeat to West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on September 19.
The Nigerian starlet was widely tipped to start his first competitive game for City in the League Cup against Sunderland September 22 but he missed the game with the club’s manager, Manuel Pellegrini confirming afterwards that he was injured.
Iheanacho has now made a full recovery and will now move straight into the match day squad for Saturday’s clash with Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.
Pellegrini made the ratification during his press conference on Friday.
"(Vincent) Kompany, (Gael) Clichy, (Fabian) Delph, (Samir) Nasri and (Yaya) Toure are injured. (Eliaquim) Mangala is on the squad list (to face Newcastle United) and so are Kelechi (Iheanacho) and (Wilfried) Bony," Pellegrini said.
Iheanacho has scored once in three league games for City this season.
