Ronaldo Has No Injury Problems - Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo does not have any injury problems, but has admitted that the Portugal international still needs some work in order to reach peak fitness.

The prolific attacker was plagued by injuries toward the end of the 2013-14 campaign, while his physical problems also affected his pre-season. Nevertheless, Ancelotti has made it clear that Ronaldo is raring to go again ahead of Madrid's La Liga opener at home against Cordoba on Monday.

"Ronaldo trained well and he's available for the match against Cordoba. He has no problems," Ancelotti said at a press conference.

TRANSFER NEWS: Di Maria Close To United Move, AC Milan In For Torres & More

AS Louis van Gaal digests a point against Sunderland, his analysis will be tempered with the news that Angel di Maria’s arrival is imminent.

The Argentine will arrive with the halo of a saviour given Manchester United’s limp start to the campaign – but at a price, some $107m, which will smash the British transfer record. He’d become the fifth most expensive player ever – behind Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez, ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic – and only the 22nd registered at more than $62m. It has been reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is trying to suck the life out of United with an astronomical $133m price, but United hope the $107m range will suffice.

QPR: Harry Redknapp Wants More New Arrivals

QPR manager Harry Redknapp is looking to add further numbers to his squad before the transfer window closes on September 1. Redknapp endured a miserable return to White Hart Lane on Sunday, as his former club Tottenham consigned Rangers to a 4-0 Premier League defeat.

Having bounced back to the top flight at the first time of asking by winning the Championship play-off final against Derby County in May, QPR have made a poor start to life back in the Premier League having also lost 1-0 to Hull City at Loftus Road on the opening day. Redknapp has added several new faces to his squad, but the 67-year-old is still eager to bring in more players before the deadline.

Olivier Giroud Can Score 25 EPL Goals For Arsenal This Season - Arsene Wenger

Olivier Giroud can score 25 Premier League goals for Arsenal this year, manager Arsene Wenger has claimed. The forward has not started either of Arsenal's first two league matches this season but opened his account with a 90th-minute equaliser at Everton on Saturday.

Giroud's late effort earned Arsenal a 2-2 draw and Wenger, who was quick to highlight his side's depth in attack, expects the France international to score several more as they go in search of their first Premier League title since 2004.

MK DONS vs MAN UNITED: Van Gaal Looking For First Red Devils Win

Louis van Gaal heads to MK Dons on Wednesday searching for his first win in a competitive game at the helm of Manchester United. The Dutchman has not made the early impact a fine pre-season suggested he might have at Old Trafford, a 2-1 home defeat against Swansea City preceding a listless 1-1 draw at Sunderland.

A League Cup trip to stadium:mk which may usually have been unwelcome therefore represents a welcome break from the Premier League. Van Gaal will be targeting an improvement in United's passing, which he bemoaned following the draw at Sunderland.

He said: "We were dominating but you need creative passing in the last third and that was also not so good.
"We do not want to be dominating without creating chances. Creating chances and making goals is the purpose of a game. We must improve the passing."

GOODBYE!!! Angel di Maria Bids Farewell To Real Madrid Players

Angel di Maria has bid farewell to his Real Madrid team-mates as a possible move to Manchester United moves closer. Real boss Carlo Ancelotti, who revealed earlier this week that Di Maria had told the club he wanted to leave and rejected the offer of a new contract, said the Argentina winger had not taken part in training on Sunday but had instead "come to say goodbye".

United have not made any official comment on reports that they are ready to sign Di Maria. It has been reported that the fee for the 26-year-old would eclipse the British record set by Fernando Torres' £50million move from Liverpool to Chelsea in 2011.

FRIENDS OR FOES!!! Siasia Wants Keshi's Job Again

In an interview on a Radio Nigeria programme, Siasia said that concerted efforts are needed to rescue Nigeria’s football from its present mess.

“As we’re talking now, the Super Eagles are scheduled to start qualification matches for next year’s African Cup of Nations in less than two weeks and we still don’t know who will be in charge for those two September games,” he said, stressing that it is not supposed to be that way.

Asked specifically if he is still interested in the post in view of the stalled negotiations with his successor, Siasia replied, “Of course! It is a thing of pride to be in charge of your country’s team and I’ve always felt I have an unfinished business with the Super Eagles considering the way I was sacked wasn’t the right way to go.”

ITS USAIN AGAIN!!! Bolt Sets New 100m Record

Bolt, in action as preparation for Zurich’s Diamond League meeting next week, said: “Above all I wanted to get through this season without any injury as I’ve suffered enough over the past few years.

Fulham FC Eyes Tim Sherwood As Felix Magath' Replacement

Fulham have reportedly shortlisted former Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood to replace manager Felix Magath at Craven Cottage.

The German has found himself under increasing pressure after the Cottagers endured a nightmare start to life in the Championship by losing their first four games. Sherwood is said to have declined offers to join West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace since leaving Spurs but, according to The Mirror, the 45-year-old could be tempted to West London.

Wayne Rooney Is My Perfect Replacement As England Captain - Steven Gerrard

Steven Gerrard believes that there is "no more worthy" a player to replace him as England captain than Wayne Rooney. The 34-year-old retired from international football following the Three Lions' failure at the World Cup in Brazil where they failed to progress from the group stages, leaving the armband vacant.

However, Gerrard feels that Rooney is the perfect candidate to take up the mantle as the leader of Roy Hodgson's side, having also be named as captain of Manchester United this season.
He wrote in the Daily Mail: "I'll never forget the day Roy Hodgson made me jump 10 feet off my couch. It was a midweek afternoon and I was at home, winding down after training, when Roy called to tell me he had important news: I was going to be his England captain.

Sami Khedira has acknowledged that he no longer has a place at Real Madrid as he seeks a move in the final week of the transfer window. While Real were playing Atletico in the Spanish Super Cup on Friday, Khedira was not even in the country after being left out of the squad.

EVERTON 2 ARSENAL 2: Arsene Wenger Proud Of Arsenal Come Back

Arsene Wenger praised Arsenal's character as they secured a 2-2 draw at Everton and avoided another Goodison Park nightmare on Saturday. Back in April, Arsenal were soundly beaten 3-0 on Merseyside in a result that looked at the time to have severely damaged their UEFA Champions League hopes although a late season rally ultimately helped them to pip Everton to the fourth and final qualification place.

On the back of their European exertions at Besiktas in midweek, the north London side looked set for a repeat as Everton raced into a 2-0 half-time lead thanks to goals from Seamus Coleman and Steven Naismith. But Wenger's men belatedly worked their way back into the game, as Aaron Ramsey continued his rich vein of scoring form to reduce the arrears in the 83rd minute and then Olivier Giroud headed them level in the final minute.

Torres Not Leaving Chelsea - Jose Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says he has no intention of letting Fernando Torres leave Stamford Bridge this summer. The Spain international has been a maligned figure since joining the Blues and was not even part of Mourinho's squad to face Leicester City on Saturday, where Diego Costa bagged his second Premier League goal and Didier Drogba made a short cameo in the 2-0 win.

The 30-year-old striker has been linked with a transfer before the window closes, but, despite his lack of involvement at the start of the campaign, Mourinho is keen to keep him. When asked if Torres would be leaving, the Portuguese replied: "No. I want three strikers in the team and I can’t do the season without three."
